Bombarda Across the Caribbean Cruise Fleet

Author: Captain James

A rum built on ocean voyages belongs on the water. These days, most people meet Bombarda somewhere between ports.

Bombarda is available aboard Carnival Cruise Line ships, stocked in Royal Caribbean duty free shops, and featured on Disney Cruise Line as a signature triple-shot rum flight — three expressions poured side by side, built to show how the same spirit changes with origin and time in barrel.

Why the flight is the best way to meet us

Rum suffers from being judged one bottle at a time. Poured side by side, the differences stop being abstract: a silver blend next to an eight-year single origin next to a dark Jamaican spiced rum is an education in about ten minutes.

It also makes the additive-free argument for us. Bombarda carries no added sugar, no caramel colorant and no chill filtration, and when three of ours sit together the family resemblance is obvious — dry, textured, with the colour coming from wood rather than a bottle of caramel.

Tasted us at sea and cannot remember which one?

It happens constantly. Light and clean in a Daiquiri or Piña Colada was Plunder. Dark with real spice in a tiki drink was Revenge. Smooth and fruity, sipped neat, was Maravilla 8 or Capitana.

We built a page to sort this out: Bombarda at Sea walks you from a half-remembered cocktail to the right bottle, and points you to a retailer ashore.

Bombarda Rum is not the official rum of any cruise line. Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line do not endorse Bombarda Rum, and all trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Availability varies by ship, sailing and venue.
